Chronic Pain, Migraines & Tension Headaches, and Fibromyalgia
What is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by the widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas. More than 3 million cases are diagnosed every year.
Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
Symptoms may include: pain in the elbow, lower back, neck, abdomen, and muscles; sensitivity to cold and pain; fatigue and nausea; forgetfulness or a lack of concentration; sensation of coldness or tingling in hands; and muscle tenderness or soreness.
What are Migraine and Tension Headaches?
Migraines are caused by a change in blood flow to the brain, while tension headaches are caused by muscle tension. Although sometimes difficult to distinguish there are some unique symptoms for each type of headache. While both migraine and tension headaches have a steady pain that most clients complain about, migraine headaches are sometimes accompanied by nausea/vomiting as well as a sensitivity to light/sounds.
